Project teammate: Paksupa Kullavanijaya

About the project

This project is aimed to empower women to be confident in their skin despite the skin health challenges that women face due to their period cycle, hormonal cravings that affect their diet. A mobile based application that tracks food consumption, daily skin changes and its co-relation with the user's period cycle is tracked, recorded and visually represented in a comprehensible manner to create awareness about the effect of poor diet and period cycle in the skin health of a woman.

Features of EcoTune

Feature 1: Upload skin photos daily and get a skin analysis of the day
The app prompts the user to upload photos or videos of their facial skin every day and does an analysis of the skin. The condition of the user's skin is shown to them in a fun and creative way by referencing it with different fruits peel/skin. The skin has difference textures and colors, just like a fruit peel. For example, if one day, the user develops hyper-pigmentation due to acne, it will be detected from the photo the user uploads that day and references it with the peel of an over-ripened banana.

Feature 2: Keep track of skin health throughout the progression of the hormonal cycle
The data analysis of the user's skin health in relation with their hormonal cycle is shown on the home screen using the fruit peel/skin imageries. The user can interact with it using the button to find the difference on their skin during each phase of their hormonal cycle.
The first screen below shows that the user is at their "Luteal phase" and has dry Skin on 20th January 2024, which is Day 29 of their hormonal cycle.
The second screen below shows that the user is at their "Follicular phase" and has hyper pigmentation and acne on their skin on 6th January 2024, which is Day 14 of their hormonal cycle.
The second
screen below shows that the user is at their "Ovulation phase" and has clear skin on 13th January 2024, which is Day 21 of their hormonal cycle.

Feature 3: Record diet
The user can just take a picture of all their meals and the app will auto-detect the food items and possible ingredients to calculate their dietary intake everyday. The user can choose to post it publicly on their feed if they wish to or simply upload it privately to keep record of their food intake.

Feature 4: Post photos/videos
The user is supposed to add photos/videos using the camera on the app to record unfiltered/unedited real pictures of their skin in order to perform a skin analysis. This is done every day to get an accurate comparison of how the skin changes throughout a woman's hormonal cycle. Here too, like the diet record, the user can choose to keep the record public or private.
